A trip to Yorkshire on a cold January day in 2002 to see a Singer Junior and I was the proud owner of this very impressive Morris, things don’t always go to plan. It was duly delivered home on the back of a truck and looked stunning with a shining chrome radiator looking every bit as good as a Rolls Royce. The Engine sounded like a bucket of rusty nuts in a spin dryer and I was soon to find this was only one problem. This car had been stored for twenty years and someone had put petrol in it and started it up, it fired so that was good enough for them. We tried to take it to Langleybury show in Watford a distance of about twenty miles. It took six halts to cool down on the way, but we made it. The same thing happened getting home but with the help of very good friends we got there.

This was the start of a very extensive and expensive bare bones rebuild. Starting with a new radiator and exhaust , it was a little better but I still had to drive with a dozen fuel filters in my pocket.
